Formation of legal cell to protect the interests of temples.
SCOPE
1 Invite updated status of temples where legal aid is required. All such information must be based on clear documents, photos and videos which are original.
2 Site visit by the legal committee is essential to ensure the genuineness of the status.
3 The commitee should examine all supporting documents/evidences and recorded voices.
4 After arriving at a conclusion that the feedback really needs to be proceeded based on facts, the panel may refer the findings to HR & CE and seek the reply within a reasonable time.
5 In the event of a non reply or unsatisfactory response from HR &CE department, the lawyers may take up the case in the appropriate court with all necessary procedures.
6 If the judgement is pronounced in favour of the temple, implementation of the same must be followed. Failure to implement the same by HR &CE as per the directions of the court can lead to contempt of court .
THE LEGAL CELL
1 Advisory board
1To consist knowledgeable persons in the field of temple affairs with wide exposure/experience in the administration of temples.
2 To consist Philanthropists and businessmen who have faith in good governance of the temples.
3 Volunteers who can put forth their suggestions
4 Lawyers who are willing to extend their services for preparation and filing of documents at the courts.
5 The panel of say 3 leading selfless lawyers who can present the case at the courts.
THE BOTTLE NECKS
The probable icebergs are
- Selection of lawyers ( Who will select them . Will all the three sail in the same boat? Who will lead the top panel?
- Though the advocates may carry the process without any fees the court fees must be borne by Philanthropists and businessmen . More cases can be fought only when the concept is welcomed in large numbers.
Your comments/suggestions are most welcome
Auditor T. R. Ramesh, Srirangam Sri Rangarajan, Retd IG Pon. Manikkavel are taking up such legal fights, and known in public domain. If we build more local groups drawing guidance from them, it will be useful. Implementaion and follow up against vested interests are the great hurdles.
